What’s this website about?

There are certain constraints that come with being an Indian passport holder while traveling and living abroad, from the complicated paperwork to the cultural differences. So, The Indian Foreigner blog is a way for Indian travelers to share their unique passion, thoughts, and stories of travel.

Not only that, this blog is a means to share helpful tips about the Financial Independence idealogoy.

India is growing stronger than ever, and many of us finally have the opportunities that our parents and grandparents could only dream of. My hope is to not just share my stories of travel as an Indian abroad, but to create a community, learn about the different perspectives and ways to travel, and light a spark in the adventurous mind.

Most asked questions

How do you manage to travel the world?

It is too easy to get caught in the daily rut of life. But traveling doesn’t have to require a job with unlimited vacation or unlimited pay. I take a few extra days of vacation on long weekends, and make these into week-long trips. I spend consciously and do not buy a lot of things so I save my money for travel and experiences.

Most importantly, I pursue the idea of Travel Hacking to sponsor my travels.

Any advice you have for Indian passport travelers?

There are many countries where Indian passport holders can travel without needing a visa or visa on arrival if they have a valid visa from a country such as the US, UK, Australia or Canada.

Although there are sites that tell you if you need a visa, I always recommend checking with the consulate directly through their website or phone to give yourself peace of mind, not to mention it helps to have written confirmation through email conversations as legal proof.

Checkout the list of countries that offer visa-free travel.

How did you get started with your blog?

I started this blog to share my travel stories and learnings, and so can you. First, you’ll need your own domain name. You’ll also need hosting for your blog.

I recommend Bluehost which is widely used these days. Signing up with the link gives you discounted prices to their plans.
